Requests & Support (Luther Seminary): Borrowing

My Library Account

View your Library Account Online: Check due dates, holds & fine information, renew items before they become overdue. Click on My Library Account in the library catalog. Click on the set/reset password link and enter your 14-digit barcode number. This will generate an email to you so that you can set your password.

Holds & Recalls: All borrowers may put a hold on an item directly through the library catalog. If you have any difficulties, call the circulation desk by phone: 651-641-3447 or email: libcirc@luthersem.edu. Requested items are eligible for recall after 4 weeks (unless needed for course reserves). Recalled items must be returned promptly.

Interlibrary Loan

Current faculty, staff and students:
We will borrow items from other libraries if we don't have an item you are looking for. Exceptions: e-books and course reserves. Let us know what you need.

Note: Due to logistics and liability we are unable to ship interlibrary loan books to distributed learning students.

Mailing & Returns

Borrowing via U.S. Mail: We mail library materials to currently enrolled distributed learning students outside the 7-county metro area via the U.S. Postal Service. Contact the circulation desk (651-641-3447, or libcirc@luthersem.edu). For insurance purposes, items are mailed via flat-rate padded envelope, postage reimbursement requested. Due to shipping costs and time constraints, we cannot ship books internationally at this time.

Returns: Return items to the circulation desk or in the book drop in front of Gullixson Hall.  Items may also be returned by mail to Luther Seminary Library, 2481 Como Ave., St. Paul, MN 55108

  • Reference materials (identified by 'Ref.' after the call number)
