Children, Youth & Family Ministry: Dictionaries/Encyclopedias

A dictionary/encyclopedia is a great source for beginning to gather information on a topic. Within a few pages, an article can:

• Provide an overview of a topic, stating its most significant aspects
• Connect one topic to similar topics, creating a network of relationships
• Direct researchers to important books, articles, essays on the topic

The Luther library has an extensive collection of subject dictionaries/ encyclopedias, both in print in the Reading Room, and online through the library website under Research & Resources.
